|Façade Inspection Services
In 2010, The City of Philadelphia’s Licenses and Inspections Department (L&I) issued Ordinance Number PM-304.10, entitled “Periodic Inspection of Exterior Walls and Appurtenances” as part of the Philadelphia Building Construction and Occupancy Code. This Ordinance addresses Life Safety concerns for the public, and states that “…all buildings six or more stories in height must be inspected by a Professional Engineer or a Registered Architect, licensed in Pennsylvania, knowledgeable in the design, construction, and inspection of building façades. The Owner of each Affected Building shall be responsible for retaining [such] a Professional to conduct periodic inspections of exterior walls and appurtenances thereto... and to prepare and file a report on such inspection”.
